The Role of Robotics in Technology Education

As we begin to plan for our first technology education robotic workshop on October 15th I am interested in what topics you would like to see addressed.

With the taking over of the Connecticut VEX competition on April 4th 2009 by the The Department of Education Office of Technology Education and the Connecticut Technology Education Association and hosted by CCSU this will give us the opportunity to add a culminating activity to a school based Robotic curriculum.

Many Connecticut schools are currently working with the REC curriculum developed by Intelitek and in the near future Autodesk will also be offering a robotic curriculum based on the VEX platform.

We will include information on these and other curriculum based resources during the workshop as well as information on the competition and robotics in general. Please feel free to share your ideas as to what else should be included in the workshop.

During the past two week I have been reviewing Perkins grants and I am pleased that many Connecticut schools are purchasing VEX materials to begin their robotics program. Perkins funds are a great way to fund a new robotics program.

Wait until you see what these MS students Did
